Still here ~ just about…

Just very quickly popping in to say “hello”. Unfortunately, I got taken into hospital after my right leg went into spasm three times in one day. The final time, my Beloved decided enough was enough and called for an ambulance; I was in absolute agony, stuck in a sort of hanging-off-the-edge-of-the-bed sort of position as I just couldn’t move. Had to have a load of Entonox from the paramedics just to get me laying back on the bed, then a whole lot more to get me down the stairs and out to the ambulance. A&E was absolutely heaving; I got there about 10.30pm and finally got a bed on a ward by nearly lunchtime the following day! I had x-rays and a MRI scan which showed a prolapsed disc, probably caused by the unnatural way I’ve been walking (right hip way higher than the left) with the sciatica. I was in hospital for nearly 2 1/2 weeks, being treated “aggressively” with painkillers. Only trouble with that was all the pill-popping made me constipated; I went five days without “going” ~ luckily, things started working again before the threat of an enema was carried out. In the meantime, though, my bladder went on strike which was awful ~ the pain was incredible, and I ended up with a catheter

All in all, it’s been a rotten few weeks but I’m glad to be home again. I spend my time popping pills four times a day and hobbling around on crutches; came home with some “aids” as well ~ a commode plus a frame to help me get on and off the loo, and a bath board! I feel like an old lady :oops:  Still, the sliver-lining to the cloud is that I have lost almost three stone since January

I can’t spend much time on the computer at the moment, but will be popping in as often as I can ~ I have an awful lot of catching up to do…..
